[comp.edu] Videotape for Social Implications Course

I would like to recommend the videotape

	Billion Dollar Bubble

for courses dealing with ethics or social
implications. This is a sixty minute documentary
(from the BBC) which is a recreation of the
computer misdoings at Equity Funding Corporation
of America (in the mid Sixties). Although Hollywood
actors (James Woods for one) are used, the script is
based on trial transcript and interviews. The use of
the computer was obvious, as well as exactly how the
fraud was perpetrated -- anyone who has had COBOL I
could understand exactly how it was done. My group seemed
to understand all that happened.

The tape is available from the University of Illinois
film library for $30.50 for one week's rental.
