[comp.edu] Textbooks for Scheme

slimick@unix.cis.pitt.edu (John C Slimick) (12/04/90)

I was asked to post the list of textbooks dealing
with Scheme. They are:

Smith, _Introduction to Scheme_, 1988 (focuses on PC Scheme)

Dybig and Smith, _The Scheme Programming Language_, (1987)

Kreutzer and McKenzie, _Programming for AI: Methods, Tools,
     and Applications_ (Addison Wesley)

Springer and Friedman, _Scheme and the Art of Programming_
     (McGraw-Hill)
[I hope David Gries isn't reading this; the term "art of
       programming" seems to upset him]

Dybig, _The Scheme Programming Language_ (Prentice Hall)

Friedman and Felleisen(?), _The Little LISPer_ (MIT Press)

Don't forget:

Abelson & Sussman, _Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs_,
MIT Press, 1985.

[also, somewhat random, but for completeness...
Zeigler, _Object-Oriented Simulation with Hierarchical, Modular Models_,
Academic Press, 1990]
