[comp.edu] Database textbook

bonak@herky.cs.uiowa.edu (Esmail Bonakdarian) (01/14/91)

I am looking for textbook recommendations for a basic CS course in
database systems and design suitable for both undergrad and grad students.

The book currently being used is by Date, 5th Ed of "Intro to Database
Systems". Just curious to find out what else it out there and being
used.

Thanks,
Esmail

I teach a HS dBASEIII+ course with Ashton-Tate's text....
Ashton-Tate's text may not meet the needs of a college course.
I can recommend a college level text I would like to be using at the HS
level written by a prof from Grand Valley State U.
