To all those who replied to my earlier posting re:Laurier, Thanks! Many of you suggested that I apply to University of Waterloo, I would completely agree with you, if it were not for some basic precepts which have caused me to neglect UofW. First of all, let me say that I have been to UofW and I like it very much and I have friends who are currently there (and probably reading this) and I have heard only the best from them, as I am from you. However.... Do to Ontario regulations I am only permitted to apply to 3 universities and as George Bush say's "it wouldn't be the Prudent thing to do" to apply to Waterloo because of there high mark cut-offs and low secondary evaluation. Secondly UofW's CS department is within the Math Faculty which unfortunately is a turn-off to me. Don't get me wrong I love math, and I am taking all the math OAC courses but I don't think I want a Math degree. My main interest lies towards the Hardware side of computers, or even REALLY low level software Ie:interfacing to ports and busses. So, I applied to UofT's Computer Engineering (I was in their summer course program last year) and also to Carleton Aerospace Engineering (my ideal application (if only it weren't in Ottawa)). So there you have it. Any further comments would be more than appreciated! <<< Jason Shapiro >>> =============================================================================== JShap @yunccn.uucp -Just a lowly prefrosh looking for answers! ===============================================================================
