[comp.edu] Looking for Cost Estimation info

melhart@commerce.ICS.UCI.EDU ("Bonnie E. Melhart") (02/21/91)

Hello. I am a senior at the Texas Christian University and I am working on a
project entitled, "Analysis of Cost Estimation Models." I'm having problems
finding books, articles or software tools on these particular models:

		- COPMO
		- SoftCost
		- SLIM
		- ESTIMATE

I'd appreciate any leads or information you can supply.

A friend is posting this for me so please send responses directly to
me instead of replying to the return address.

The worst part about cost estimation models is that they are hopelessly
out of date. They don't do even a half-assed job of estimating cost
for modern methodologies that emphasize iteration, rapid prototyping,
architecture over coding, incremental test and integration, or object-
orientation.
