[comp.edu] network for elementary school

burroak@convex.cl.msu.edu (newell franks) (06/05/91)

We are trying to device a plan for implementing computer education
in an elementary school. We would like to start with 13 networked
seats with the ability to expand. It should be able to run dos
color VGA applications and have the ability to access a cd-rom
simultaneously from multiple seats. The current LAN of choice would
be ethernet based, but that is not cast in stone. We currently are
not locked into any hardware or software platforms either, but dos
seems to be the operating system of choice. Please e-mail any
suggestions or ideas to Jeff at: burroak@convex.cl.msu.edu
Thanx

I would be interested in anything you find out. I am trying to help my son's
school make the same decision. Please post or mail anything you find out.

I have been working with an elementary school here in Corvallis
Oregon to set up a computer lab. We have networked 12 (currently)
DOS machines and wired both the lab and the classrooms. We have
been working on this for about a year. I will EMAIL you the
specifics.
