[comp.edu] Computer Hardware by software??

splotl@tharr.UUCP (Chris H) (06/21/91)

Hello,

I'm trying to track down *any* software (free or otherwise) that would
be useful for teaching computer hardware at first-year degree level.

Specifically:
		* Logic circuit simulation
		  (Just *simple* stuff, not a HI-LO clone)

		* Simulation of CPU or other computer "internals"

Some things just can't be shown to the students directly...
("Look here inside the computer. See the 0s and 1s flowing around?
  That's the data bus").

Surely someone's had a go at producing some software?

Please reply to me by e-mail; I'll summarise responses to this group.

Thanks,

Chris
