[comp.dcom.lans] AppleTalk through Broadband?

ospwd@emory.UUCP (Peter Day {EUCC}) (04/27/87)

We have been successful in bridging two AppleTalk networks by
connecting two Hayes InterBridges via asynchronous broadband
connections at 19.2Kbps. We have successfully accessed printers
and an AppleShare server and found them barely usable at that
speed.

We are using broadband network interfaces from Applitek Corp.

Does anyone know a way to bridge AppleTalk networks directly
through a broadband at full AppleTalk speed? (Yes, we know
about using a Kinetics Fastpath and broadband ethernet bridge).

Does anyone know a way to use a broadband as a direct AppleTalk
backbone, in the sense that AppleTalk networks are bridged
together by being individually bridged to the broadband (at
full AppleTalk speed)?

Please send responses directly to me and I will summarize to the
Net if appropriate.

Thanks,
Peter Day
