Recently picked up v2.0 of the NCSA Telnet for PC. I'm having some troubles with it. The manual says to submit a bug report, but conveniently omits the address for submission. Two questions: ******************** Does anyone know the bugs-report address for the National Center for Supercomputing Applications? ******************** Second: Here's a list of my bugs so far. Anyone else experienced these? BUG 1: FTP client does not get small ascii files correctly. If the file is 513-nnn ("nnn" appears to max out around 2k or so), the file will not get from the server correctly. It will be terminated at 512 bytes. Larger files do not seem to have this problem. BUG 2: The server mode doesn't. It won't answer requests for ftp or rcp (yes, I have them turned on), and won't even ack a ping request. Looks like NCSA still has a bit of work to do. It'll be great stuff, though, when they get it finished. I had TCP from Gold Hill, and this beats the blazes out of that. (It's also free.) -- David S. The bug address for NCSA Telnet is: telbug@ncsa.uiuc.edu, telbug%newton@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu, or ...!{ihnp4,convex,pur-ee}!uiucdcs!uiucuxc!newton!telbug -- -- Steve Alexander, NFS Group | stevea%laidbak@sun.com Lachman Associates, Inc. | ...!{ihnp4,sun}!laidbak!stevea 1-800-LAI-UNIX x256 | 1-312-505-9100 x256

I also have a small complaint that it is not configurable enough. You can't specify the IO port address?? Where is it by default?? Other than that the documentation is great. -- Michael A. Shiels (MaS Network Software) mshiels@orchid.waterloo.EDU UUCP: ...path...!watmath!orchid!mshiels
