Hi,
This is a second post on this subject in a couple of months, please
bear with me.
I am having trouble bringing up a leased line point to point
connection using DEC communication controllers;DMV11 and DMR11.
I have the devices both configured to use the DDCMP protocol. They
are installed on a Microvax (DMV11) and a 785 (DMR11). The 785 runs
Ultrix 1.2 and the Microvax runs Ultrix 2.0. The devices are connected to
DEC DF129 9600 Baud modems. The systems use TCP/IP accross the line.
For the record the remote end DMR11 used to talk to a DMR11 at my
end, and I had no problems with the phone line, modem or cable to the
modem. Upon transfering the line to the Microvax (and the DMV11),
performance took a nosedive. A line that should echo a ping in 220
ms takes 7,8,9 even 10k ms. Interestingly this performance time drops
back to normal (220 ms) range when the modem cable is disconnected
an reconnected.
Is anyone out there running a configuration similar to this? DEC
Ultrix support in Atlanta has just about exhausted their litany of
things to check/modify to no avail. I would appreciate any
information that you may have concerning these devices. I believe
that all kernal, board, RS-232 interface and modem configurations
are correct both at my end and at the remote end.
Thanks for your time and patience...
