[comp.dcom.lans] Source for DDCMP wanted

larry@focsys.UUCP (Larry Williamson ) (01/29/88)

I am looking for source for a DDCMP driver. DDCMP is the *very* old
communication protocol developed by DEC in the mid 70's.

This will be used on a Unix system 5 machine, but I don't mind if
I must port it from any other O.S.

Thanks.

We can help (I think?).

Here at South Seattle Community College we have a Cincinnati Milacron T3 robot.
Ddcmp is needed to talk to the host, an hp9000/550 running HP-UX 5.2 (unix V.2).
We purchased the robot communications manual that documents the ddcmp standard.
Unfortunately it doesn't have the source code but does have a few errors.
It took two persons 3 months and was our first major project in C under unix.
Our program functions but it dosn't support more than one station, hasn't been
thoroughly debugged and isn't fully documented.

      It's yours for the asking.
