[comp.dcom.lans] TCP/IP terminal server query

rlr@stcvax.UUCP (Roger Rose) (02/26/88)

Does anybody know of any good TCP/IP terminal servers? We are planning
on installing terminals into an area where it will be impossible to add
cabling once the facility is in production. As an Ethernet will be run
through the building, terminal servers seem to be a good option.

Configuration: 10Mb Ethernet, 4.3BSD on VAX11/750's and 11/780's,
                2.10BSD on PDP11/73's, vt100 and vt200 terminals.

There are plans to replace the Vaxes during the next year. The new
computers might not be DEC computers, but will run BSD UNIX. We are
also looking into adding a number of workstations to slowly phase out
the PDP11's over a number of years.

Please reply via email.
