Distribution: I am seeking suggestions on how to incorporate a Bridge Communications CS/1-TCP-SNA Gateway Server, recently installed on our LAN, to its IBM host via a Polled Multidrop arrangement. Will be very appreciative of any helpful hints. Current setup has two IBM Model 3274 units, the output of each connects to an input of a Teleprocessing Products, Inc. TP-2/4 Interface Sharing Unit (ISU). The ISU's output is connected to the IBM host via a modem. Cables are all RS-232. The ISU uses the RTS line to control the 3274 devices. This polled multidrop network is working fine, no problems to mention. The proposed setup adds a Bridge Communications CS/1-SNA Gateway's output (also RS-232) to another input of the ISU. The ISU can handle up to four input devices. The problem is that the RTS line is locked high, or low depending on how the CS/1-SNA parameters are set (we've tried several ways), and thus the multidrop arrangement is rendered useless. To complicate matters, we would rather NOT change the configuration setup of the IBM host or 3274's. Since we know they work together, there should be no reason to anyway, right? Has any one encountered this before, or familiar enough with Multidrop arrangements and the CS/1-SNA to help? Naturally, the earlier this is up and running the better! -- .......................................
