I need to make arrangements to connect a number of ibm-pcs (normal and ps/2) machines to a database application running on a VAX under VMS. Looking to the future we want to go via tcp/ip and ethernet rather than via a async data stream. We expect to purchase an Interlan ethernet card and drivers for tcp/ip for the vax. What suggestions do you have for the pc-side. By the way, the pc's are already connected in a token-ring net with Novell Netware. I understand the OSI and IP models well, but have no experience with VMS nor knowledge of the hardware and software available for the pc side. Technical, as well as non-technical, suggestions, comments, etc. are requested. Please limit follow-ups to comp.dcom.lans; please mail to me as well. I confirm receipt of any mail received (manually - the personal touch). michael -- Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by ... (R.
