We are considering purchasing a Novell Netware system. We already have Corvus PC/NOS (Version 1.2), and it has not performed well at all in the "real-world" environment of applications programs using Btrieve, DOS 3.3, the Dos 3.3 APPEND Command, and the like. For two months we suffered through various errors ranging from "Btrieve Status=2" (I/O error) to "File Allocation Table Bad, Drive G:" (major recovery time). Finally we find out today that DOS 3.3 + PC/NOS + APPEND does not work. "No, PC/NOS won't support more than 32Meg of data on one drive. No, we can't help you with your problem." Argh! Are all networking vendors like this? Anyway, if somebody could e-mail us what Novell will and will not do in the areas of support and disk sizing and the like, I would be forever grateful. -- My employer pays me to work.
