HELP! Is anyone else out there using the Micom-Interlan NP321 package? If so, or if you know anything about, read on . . . We're using Micom's NP300 Network Protocol Processor board and their TCP/IP software as the base for our TCP/IP and NFS products. Our box is a MultiBus based 68020 system running our own version of UNIX System V Release 2 (soon to be V.3). We've discovered an "anomaly" in the way the Micom board handles the "select" function. It appears that there is some problem with interrupts that cause the calling process to never get any indication that data is ready. We have found that we can work around this by either splitting any program that uses select into a pair of processes (reader & writer) or by polling the board. Neither of these is desirable. Is anyone else out there using this Micom product? If so, have you also noticed this "problem"? If so, how are you working around it? If you're not working around it, would you be willing to tell me what you *are* doing about it? I'd appreciate any info you can give me. Either send email or feel free to call me at +1 508 635 6383 (yes, the area code will be 508 by the time most of you see this article). Thanx 1.0e06! -- Adam S.
