I am having problems configuring MS Excel for printing to an HP Laserjet Series II, on a Novell LAN. The LAN had been operating under ELS NetWare, and despite the upgrade to SFT 2.1 it still fails to print properly. After consulting a friend locally, I have discovered that Microsoft products tend to write to the root level of hard drives, write to hardware, and cause traffic problems with interrupts. The system is configured as follows. An ARCNET topology with 5 80286 based machines, all ACER. An ACER 900 server runs dedicated, one ACER 900 workstation w/ 30 Mb hard drive, and 3 5280 diskless stations, but each 5280 contains a 3.5" floppy drive. MS-DOS 3.3 is booted at each station. Excel prints from the ACER 900 station, but will not print from the Diskless stations. Could anyone offer any suggestions? Please send E-mail if possible. Von Kenric Kaneshiro
