earlier today i posted this to net.unix but just realized that we don't even subscribe to it. please excuse me if this is question is beneath the dignity of this group. i am new to System V unix. I have been able to decipher most of the terminfo documentation, but can't find any (correct) information on how to initialize a terminal according to the terminfo description. Berkeley 4.2 provides the tset command which will read the termcap data base and transmit initialization strings and files to the terminal. The terminfo man page that we have makes reference to this tset command but it appears that this is only because the editors did not do a very thorough job in converting the documents from what Berkeley had written. Tset is not found anywhere else amongst the System V unix stuff that we have here. So what command can i invoke in my profile to properly initialize my terminal? Thanks in advance for your help, kelvin nilsen
