Pardon this first (and hopefully last) posting . . . Having trouble configuring an Adaptec 2370 controller for a file server running Novell Advanced Netware 2.01 (No SFT). The server is an AST Premium\286 (AST Premium\286 BIOS 1.1; 1MB RAM, 2 65MB HD's). We have the AST running the controller properly under DOS 3.3, but COMPSURF won't recognize the disk/controller combo. To complicate matters, the AST SETUP drive table does not support our drives (2 Miniscribe 3650R's). I can't beleive that we've created a truly unique configuration: does anyone know of such a combo working? How? Who? Where? The tech's at Novell, AST, and Adaptec are kicking this one around like a soccer ball (conflicting patches and finger pointing galore), so I submit to a higher authority . . . Any ideas folks?! NOTE: We are using Gateway G/Ethernet cards; all memory, IRQ, cabling and addressing issues regarding this problem have been eliminated; no peripherals or tape drives (yet); Hercules mono card, mono TTL monitor. PLUS: Once we hurdle this impass, does anyone know how to force COMPSURF to interleave at 1:1? The lowest value it currently accepts is 2:1. 2 cents: Creating a Novell news group gets my vote. -------------------------------------------------------------- Commercial: (805) 481-3250 (8am - 7pm PST) or Adam Sullivan 1303 Grand Ave, #201 Arroyo Grande, CA 93420 /-----------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Adam B.
