To repeat: Harvard University is publishing a RFI for a High Speed Data Network (>=100MB/sec) that will connect together many of Harvard's 300+ buildings. The RFI addresses the physical design of the backbone network and the building links, the electrical design, a management structure and center, interfaces with Harvard's new ISDN phone system, and supporting software. Vendor's wishing to get a copy of the RFI should send me their postal address and phone #. Harvard will NOT accept any response from vendors that did not receive a hard copy from us ( We will be accepting written questions from the vendors and will be sending the questions and our responces to all vendors that have told us that they will be responding. The requirement for a hard copy is to insure that we have accurate addresses for the vendors and to insure that all vendors get exactly the same information. ) The hard copy has been given to the USPO for all of those who have already sent me their addresses, if you have done so and do not find a copy in the mail box in the next few days, please get in touch with me. For those of you are interested, a copy of the postscript files required to print out a copy of the RFI are now available for anonymous ftp from husc6.harvard.edu in pub/hsdn.rfi. ( There is a also a formatted ASCII version for those who do not have access to a postscript printer. ) Scott Bradner Harvard University sob@harvard.harvard.edu 33 Kirkland St. or ...!{harvard,wjh12,talcott}!sob Cambridge, MA 02138 SOB@HARVUNXW.BITNET
