[comp.dcom.lans] wanted: ethernet test equipment

eli@spdcc.COM (Steve Elias) (12/20/88)

does anyone have any pointers to equipment which can be used
to test ethernets at the logical level? i'm interested in
something that can examine packets for proper delivery and
report some nifty statistics about packet loss, etc.

thanks in advance...

I would look at:
"The Sniffer" Network General Corp., Mt. View CA (415) 965-1800
"The Spider Monitor", Spider Ltd., England

and a newcomer to the field:
"The EON monitor", Eon Systems Inc., Cupertino CA (408) 252-5440

Er, that should be Scotland and not England. Spider Systems are based in
Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland.
