[net.records] The Motels album "All Four One"

markp (01/07/83)

Rarely do I deliberately open myself up to ridicule, but here goes...
<rave begins>
I recently purchased The Motels album "All Four One" (after falling in
love with their lead singer via the video version of the single
"Take the 'L'" which I saw on MTV). I've never been more pleasantly
surprised by any record purchase. With the exception of two cuts, the
whole LP is upbeat, rockin' material. One of the slower songs, "He Hit Me,"
I don't particularly like, but the other evokes strongly the image of
a midwest diner, late at night, reminiscent of Hopper's famous painting,
"Nighthawks." Also there is a very interesting photo on the inner sleeve.
Make sure you get that inner sleeve -- I've seen copies which lacked it.
This record has been a big hit with *everyone* I've played it for.
It's a well-recorded album, too -- I doubt that even the "audiophiles" out
there would have any complaints about its quality.
Take a chance -- GO FOR IT!
<end of rave>
