We have upgraded our Netware file server from Advanced 286 2.0a to 2.12 and are having problems with IPX and net3. Our old anet3 still works just fine. IPX seems to work; it displays the settings of the Ethernet (3C501) card and checkcom will reliably send and receive packets. When I try to run net3 the system stalls eventually I get the following error: Network error on Server ISR_1: Error receiving from network Abort, Retry ISR_1 is the correct server name. Any ideas? Our Netware serial number is 00851628 and the version is 2.12 Rev. A. The Problem occurs on both real IBMs (PS/2 mod 30 286) and clones running both PC-DOS 3.3 and MS-DOS 3.21. Contact a Novell GOLD Reseller or Distributer and get a working copy of NET3. If that fails, check to see that your Ethernet cable is consistant throught out your network. If you are using Thin-Ethernet, then the cable should be RG-58A/U or RG-58C/U. I've had problems missing those two with RG-58U. Technically speaking, the cores of the wires must be the same. I hope this helps somewhat. -- J. Chin (a.k.a.
