[comp.dcom.lans] Broadband networking query

sob@watson.bcm.tmc.edu (Stan Barber) (02/15/89)

I would like to survey the type of broadband systems used by folks.

The question: Is your system low, mid or high split?
Was there a specific reason for this choice?

Send replies to me and I will summarize.

My answer is "mid-split".
The reason is that the existing CATV system used it.

We're mid-split here. Of course, we have exactly two channels in use on the
thing. We run an Ethernet over it and some point to point RF modems. We can
also run some TV channels, but no one ever asks to be hooked up to the video.
