[comp.dcom.lans] Mac NCSA Telnet & 3B2/WIN Problem

khj@ecsvax.UUCP (Kenneth H. Jacker) (05/01/89)

** Hardware **
Mac II; 2MB; | 3B2/500
Kinetics EtherPort II |

** Software **
System 6.0.2 | System V
NCSA Telnet v2.2 | WIN/TCP v2.1

** Problem **
NCSA telnet's connect request to the 3B2 is "timing out",
eventually producing a "host or gateway not responding" error
message.

Our 3B2s are able to "telnet" and "ftp" among themselves. We've
checked that the (thin) cables *are* connected/terminated
properly. Prior to the Mac's error dialog, packets (ARP?) are
being transmitted.

Please write to me if you have any ideas ... Thanks!
