NEED INFO ON A TOKEN RING-ETHERNET BRIDGE (XLATOR)
     ==================================================

First of all I would like to apologize if I am sending this message to
the wrong group.

We have installed an IBM mainframe 4381 that is to be connected to our
Sequent (S81) which runs Dynix 3.0.12.

The plan is to connect the two systems using the following:

1) The 4381 will have a token Ring adapter card on the 3720 communications
controller. It will also be using "IBM TCP/IP FOR MVS WITH NFS FEATURES"
Product Number: 5685-061 (It will not be available officially until 06/30).

2) A PS/2 30/286 PC will stand between the 4381 and the Sequent. We need
the PC to be able to somehow "bridge" the link by taking to the 4381
through TOKEN-RING and to the Sequent through Ethernet.

3) The sequent already has NFS, TCP/IP since we have it connected to
a SUN/120 using NFS and TCP/IP.

4) I have called FTP and asked about any solutions or suggestions. They
have packages that do both but not at the same time.

5) With this IBM package we're getting we are supposed to be able to
use utilities such as rlogin, telnet, ftp, etc. Besides, we should
also be able to have 3270 emulation as well as RJE facilities. All
of these with TCP/IP (plus NFS).

6) We intend to use the IBM 4381 for storage (NFS), development and
training.

Any ideas? Comments, suggestions, hints? They will all be welcomed!!

Thanks
