[comp.dcom.lans] Help interface Novell with Unison UPS

Hi !
I am having a problem interfacing the Novell stand-alone UPS board
with the Unison DP-1000 uninterruptable power supply. The Unison UPS
manual indicated that they indicate a Low Battery Signal with a closed
contact and a AC Power Failure Signal with an open contact. Based on
that I have set the Novell UPS board jumper JMP1 to SETTING S2 and
jumper JMP5 to SETTING S9.

Our server is a compaq 386/16 running Netware 2.15. The server config
file SERVER.CFG is:

VAP WAIT 10
UPS TYPE=1
UPS IO=240
UPS DOWN=10
UPS WAIT=30

When the server boots, I get the usual date and then instead of the
    :
I get this message:
    UPS enabled on REHS-TECH.
BATTERY LOW: REHS-TECH will go down in one minute.
And the server shuts itself down in one minues. The UPS is fully charged
(it's able to run for atleast next 30 minutes).

I called UNISON and their tech person told me to check the output signals
from their cable. The cable is giving the correct signals. Then the tech
person told me that someone else also had a similar problem and that it
had something to do with SERVER.CFG file.

Is there anyone who has had this type of a problem or can tell me what's
going on here. I hate to call up Novell and explain why the University
does not give out company Credit Cards!

Thanks in advance.
