Hello, For all of you who have written me that you can't get PCroute or PCbridge because you don't have FTP access, here is your solution. Brian Nelson of the Univ. Of Toledo has very generously taken the time and disk space to make PCroute and PCbridge available via Bitnet and a MAIL server. I have personally tested the mail server and it seems to work. Follow the instructions below and the mail server will send you about 20 mail messages (for PCroute) containing each of the files in the distribution. Binary (executable) files have been uuencoded. You will have to edit out the mail headers on the ASCII file. (using BITNET with the SEND command is preferable since you don't have to edit out mail headers). The mail server usually takes overnight to retrieve your files for you, so be patient. Please don't retrieve PCroute immediately if you don't need it, have pity on the poor mail server. Also you may want to drop a quick thank you to Brian (brian@uoft02.bitnet) for providing this service. PCroute and PCbridge as always is also available by anonymous FTP from accuvax.nwu.edu (129.105.49.1) in pub/pcroute. Vance -------------------------------------------------------------------- Vance, The pcroute files are currently online. There are several ways in which they can retrieved. For bitnet nodes running VAX/VMS and Jnet software, a command of the form: $ send vmsserv@uoft02 vmsdump pcroute.package $ send vmsserv@uoft02 vmsdump pcroute-exe.package will insure that no intervening nodes will affect character translation. For those VMS sites (and non-Bitnet VMS sites) which will have to use mail, send a mail to vmsserv@uoft02.bitnet with the line: send pcroute-vms-share.package in the body of the mail message. When all 50 parts arrive, concatenate them and execute the resulting file as a dcl command procedure. Nodes not running VMS can either mail or send a message to vmsserv containing: SEND PCROUTE.PACKAGE Help is available, as well as a complete directory of all files via: HELP DIR The same above apply to PCBRIDGE, simply replace PCBRIDGE with PCROUTE resepectively.
