We are looking for an economically-feasible connectivity solution to the following problem: (N.B., you purists: Unfortunately, we cannot attack the problem by upgrading ($$$) or homogenizing ($$$$) the system.) Scenario: Framework III Lan on a Novell network (with 3 file servers) running Netware/68 version 2.01a. The FWIII email features are used by all departments on the Novell system. Sun workstations running NFS. Goal: Allow the 2 systems to communicate via a gateway (e.g. one of the Novell fileservers) without abandoning the FWIII email (politics, wot!). That is, provide a window into the FWIII email system from NFS workstations. Perhaps it is worth noting that we have also set up an in-house BBS on the Novell system. We are also working toward 2-way communications between the BBS and FWIII email. The BBS software is PCBoard. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. We will report back on the results.
