We're installing a small test LAN to evaluate different peer-to-peer networks, and we've decided to standardize on Ethernet cards. But we'd like to be able to test both configurations that use coaxial cable ("thin Ethernet") and configurations that use unshielded twisted pair. I'm new to this, but the only Ethernet NICs I've seen have BNC-style connectors. Are Ethernet cards (these for AT-compatibles, BTW) made with both kinds of connectors, or are BNC-twisted pair adapters available? References to suppliers would be appreciated, and I'll summarize any email responses in a future posting. I'm *assuming* here that I can test two different wiring/software strategies without changing cards. Please let me know if this is just a pipe dream! Thanks very much.
