INTRODUCTION
INDOLAN '90 is an International Conference on Local Area Networks.
The aims of the Conference are :
* to bring together professionals from various universities,
industries & R&D labs around the world to discuss the state-of-
the-art in the field of Local Area Networks.
* to expose persons in the Computer field to advanced concepts in
LAN through tutorials conducted by Internationally renowned
practitioners in LAN technology.
* to display the current technology in LANs through a specialist
exhibition.

* Computer Society of India (CSI).
* International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP)
Working Group 6.4
IFIP is the apex body of national Computer Societies around the world.
CSI is the premier body of Computer professionals in India, with a
membership of over 10,000.
The Conference is guided by an advisory Committee comprising of eminent
personalities in India and abroad.
Active cooperation is being extended from national bodies like
Department of Electronics, IIT's etc.
The Conference is an official event in the Calender of IFIP as well as CSI.

supply. All foreign visitors are required by law to pay in foreign
currency.

Madras is the venue of the Conference. This city of 5 million on the
eastern coast of Southern India has excellent infrastructure &
facilities for International events and has a high level of Computer
activity which includes manufacturing, academic institutions and
Societies. Madras in late January has pleasant weather (average
day temparature 21-28 deg C).
Madras has an International airport served by International Airlines
like Air India, British Airways, Singapore Airlines etc. and is well
connected by rail and air to the rest of India.
