We have a 3Com network with 30 possible stations. We are unable to connect
all 30 stations to the network because of a system error when trying to connect
the 26th-27th station to the servers. We narrowed the error down to the
Setname command. In the autoexec.bat we have the command Setname $$3com$$ (as
recommended by the 3Com manual). The first 25 or 26 seem to work fine but the
rest will not connect. When we manually type in the Setname command with no
parameters it displays the TYPE but not the NAME (which should be the address
of PC). We tried adjusting the peripherals, buffers,links,sessions and none of
it seems to help. We tried contacting 3Com but they wanted $150 per hour for
technical support or $10,000 per year. We can't afford to buy the support from
