This dosn't make it cheeper (to install) but might be cheeper (in the long 
run).

The 802.3/10baseT spec states that hub are REPEATERS not CONCENTRATORS.
they will shut down a port on a jabber and isolate it from the rest of
the LAN. Sure could save alot of time (and expense) when trying to locate
the bad node flooding my 'tuned circuit' cheepernet ethernet bus (real
world experience shows that those with existing LANS choose this reason
over 'cheeper wire'.
