Hello,
perhaps this has been asked before, but ...
we are looking for implementations of boot code in PROM suitable for the
boot PROM socket of the Western Digital 8003EBT(/A) ethernet adapter board.
The boot code should provide the following functions:
- obtain the internet address, given the hardware address of the board,
using the TCP/IP BootP protocol as specified in RFC 951.
- download an operating system image (primarily DOS ...) from a file
associated with the internet address, using the TCP/IP TFTP protocol,
into a storage area compatible with standard RAM-Disks (VDISK.SYS).
- disable the floppy and harddisks from being able to boot from.
- filter and discard RARP requests issued locally.
- disallow to bypass the boot process.
The boot code should allow to load everything which normally resides on a
boot floppy or in the boot partition of a harddisk, e. g. CONFIG.SYS,
drivers and/or their configuration files, COMMAND.COM, etc.
Thanks in advance for any pointers or comments.
Regards,
