[comp.dcom.lans] The people side of managing a LAN

slf@well.UUCP (Sharon Lynne Fisher) (01/09/90)

(Sorry if this appears twice; after it didn't appear on my system after a
couple of days, I decided to re-post it.)

I'm doing a story for Connect magazine on the people side of managing a
network. Not products and protocols, but things like how do you find people
qualified enough to do network management, who manages which parts, how do
you determine where the phone network ends and the data network begins, etc.
I'm looking for war stories and people to talk to. You can call me at (415)
664-8845, reply here, or send me email to slf@well.sf.ca.us or to
sharon@asylum.sf.ca.us Thanks!

I already have a boyfriend, so you needn't talk to me or send me
e-mail if you consider that "wasting your time."

Sorry. This was in reference to a flamefest that's going on in some of the
.soc groups, and I forgot I had it there. My apologies to anyone who was
offended by it.

(If you want the whole story, send me e-mail and I'll tell you...it's
actually kind of funny...)
