[comp.dcom.lans] TCP/IP versus X.25

I'm currently writing a paper about X.25,  used in a interconnecting network.
But what I'm wandering about:
What are the GOOD point of the OLD "standards" like TCP/IP,
used for interconnecting network.
Any body around here has a viewpoitn on this?
