We have two groups which work together, and need to share an ethernet for applications development and testing. For some reason not readily understandable by ordinary mortals like myself, one of these groups is moving to another building about two or three blocks away. I am looking for suggestions on how best to link our ethernets between these two locations. It is not likely we have access to line-of-sight for laser or microwave links (intervening taller buildings in downtown DC). We are looking into the possibility of a T1 link ($990/mo). I have heard of several commercial products for packet radio ethernet. Is this likely to be feasible and/or cost effective. Anyone with experience?
