[comp.dcom.lans] 386 giveing byte-reversed IP address

tom@wcc.oz (Tom Evans) (02/08/90)

Our 386 tower running SCO Xenix with an Excelan Ethernet card and
TCP/IP (LAN Workplace 3.6) software is doing something strange. Our
net is 192.9.200.0 (yes I know that's Sun's - we'll change it
eventually) and the 386 talks fine to our Sun and other machines.

Once a minute the rwho daemon pumps out a packet to 200.9.192.0
instead of 192.9.200.0! This looks like a network-byte-order problem.
It isn't mentioned in the release notes.

Please reply by mail - I don't read this group often enough.

Your problem is probably that final zero--change it to a non-zero
address and see what happens.
