I posted this last week, but we had some failures here, and I'm not sure if it
got out. Apologies if you have already seen it.
Hi, I need some information on TCP/IP gateways.
Currently our LAN only carries XNS traffic, and is connected via a Bridge
Communications GS/300 gateway to a remote Vax over 4 leased lines. We are
considering adding some UN*X boxes to our LAN, and putting a TCP/IP gateway on
a spare line to handle this traffic.
Can anybody give me ballpark figures on this type of hardware (I'll just
multiply US figures by 2), or, more importantly, tell me if I seem to be making
a big mistake. I really am in the dark about exactly what's involved here.
