This is a list of the updated modules in the pre-release maintenance update from IBM for Xenix (286 1.0 (microsoft 3.0)). They plan to release this soon. Many of the problems I have previously posted have been fixed, including the c compiler and the boot tables! /minstall /bin/ld /bin/vi /bin/cc /lib/Mcrt0.o /lib/Lmcrt0.o /lib/Lseg.o /lib/Scrt0.o /lib/Mmcrt0.o /lib/Mseg.o /lib/p0 /lib/Smcrt0.o /lib/Sseg.o /lib/Ssegimp.o /lib/p1 /lib/p2 /lib/p3 /lib/Llibc.a /lib/Lcrt0.o /etc/badtrack /etc/maint.perms /etc/config /etc/boot1 /etc/hdboot0 /usr/bin/dosld /usr/include/dos/assert.h /usr/include/dos/ctype.h /usr/include/dos/dos.h /usr/include/dos/direct.h /usr/include/dos/errno.h /usr/include/dos/fcntl.h /usr/include/dos/malloc.h /usr/include/dos/io.h /usr/include/dos/math.h /usr/include/dos/process.h /usr/include/dos/memory.h /usr/include/dos/register.h /usr/include/dos/search.h /usr/include/dos/signal.h /usr/include/dos/setjmp.h /usr/include/dos/share.h /usr/include/dos/stdio.h /usr/include/dos/stdlib.h /usr/include/dos/string.h /usr/include/dos/time.h /usr/include/dos/sys/locking.h /usr/include/dos/sys/stat.h /usr/include/dos/sys/timeb.h /usr/include/dos/sys/types.h /usr/include/dos/sys/utime.h /usr/include/dos/v2tov3.h /usr/include/dos/conio.h /usr/lib/dos/Ldlibcfa.a /usr/lib/dos/Ldlibcfp.a /usr/lib/dos/Mdlibc.a /usr/lib/dos/Ldsetargv.o /usr/lib/dos/Ldvarstck.o /usr/lib/dos/Mdlibcfa.a /usr/lib/dos/Mdlibcfp.a /usr/lib/dos/Sdlibc.a /usr/lib/dos/Mdsetargv.o /usr/lib/dos/Mdvarstck.o /usr/lib/dos/Sdlibcfa.a /usr/lib/dos/Sdlibcfp.a /usr/lib/dos/Sdsetargv.o /usr/lib/dos/Sdvarstck.o /usr/lib/dos/binmode.o /usr/lib/dos/Ldlibc.a /usr/sys/io/hd.o /usr/sys/conf/KMseg.obj /boot -- ---- Robin Cutshaw uucp: ...!{akgua,gatech}!medstar!robin

Yes, the maintenance release from IBM for Xenix 1.0 (Microsoft 3.0) has officially been released as of today (Jul 2, 1985). The dealer support center has them ready to mail to those dealers who call in and ask for them. See previous posting detailing the contents (boot stuff, cc, libs). -- ---- Robin Cutshaw uucp: ...!{akgua,gatech}!medstar!robin

I have had so many requests for info on the Xenix Maintenance Release from IBM that I thought I would clarify my previous posting. As you probably know, IBM Xenix 1.0 is really Microsoft Xenix 3.x and Microsoft had beta-marketing rights until Jan 1 of this year. This is where so many people on the net received their copy of Xenix early. Microsoft then came up with a maintenance release for their customers to fix many, many bugs (including boot tables and compiler errors). This release has just been semi-mass produced by IBM for their release. This is the Xenix Maintenance Release that I posted news about last week. So, the number one question has been "how do we get it?" IBM has established a direct line to dealers (an 800 number) for support of all of their products in the PC line. This line is directly into Boca. If you talk to your dealer, tell {him, her} that the maintenance release is available through the dealer support line. If they still get nowhere tell them to ask for "Red" (he will probably kill me). Currently, this release is available only through this channel. -- ---- Robin Cutshaw uucp: ...!{akgua,gatech}!medstar!robin
