[comp.dcom.lans] Anyone experience this with Corvus ReadyNet?

dnb@fltk.UUCP (David Buonomo) (02/28/90)

I recently purchased ReadyNet from Corvus. This is a 1Mbit/sec network that
works over twisted pair. It comes packaged with all the hardware and software
for about $500.

My problem is this. Simple DOS applications that work fine without the network
software loaded will not run when the network software is loaded. An example
is IBM Writing Assistant (an old (around 1986), simple word processing program).
The program begins to hit the disk and load into memory, but then goes looking
at the floppy drive. The drive light stays on for a few seconds, the screen
clears, and then the system goes idle. Then it's time for a reboot.

Does anyone have a copy of Readynet that they have been successful with in
a similar environment? How about other LAN's (Novell, etc.), any similar
problems? Thanks in advance for any help.
