I am new to this newsgroup, so I am not sure whether the question is appropriate, but...I thought I'd ask anyway. I'd like to be able to remotely log in to a 386-machine which is running unix by connecting from a mac. Can I do this simply by a cable connection from the mac serial port to the pc com port, or is some special hardware device (modem or otherwise) necessary? I take it I would at least need some sort of terminal emulating program for the mac. But is more than that needed, aside from the cable? Please respond by mail, and if this is not the right newsgroup, then could someone direct me to a more appropriate one? Thanks in advance, Fred Dushin fadushin@rodan.acs.syr.edu fadushin@sunrise.bitnet
