Another general question from the ex-manager of Excelan (Europe) prior to the Novell buy-out, now unemployed. There may be a software package in the U.S. that will connect a PC to a DEC host via LAT. The name of the package is: COMunity. Has anyone heard of it and is there a phone number we can call to get some information? This package runs on the Excelan card. Any information about other drivers would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance BOB -- Automatic Disclaimer: The views expressed above are those of the author alone and may not represent the views of the IBM PC User Group. --

We bought a multi-protocol software stack from Hughes LAN Systems (formerly Sytek) that runs on the WD8003 and supports LAT, Novell, and TCP/IP. It seems to work fine. This package lets us a PC talk to essentially every major system on campus. -- Walt Haas haas@cs.utah.edu
