We need to connect two ethernets (one thick, one thin) in buildings about 300m (1000ft) apart. However, since there is a street between them, we would prefer not to run a cable between the buildings. I recall seeing some discussion in this newsgroup regarding infra-red ethernet repeaters which might be suitable for this application. If anyone has saved that discussion, or has recommendations on suppliers of such equipment, I'd really appreciate hearing from you. Please email replies to me, and I'll summarize if there's interest.
