A request for a particular Ray Charles record prompted me to post this information, as it might be of general use to anyone looking for records by particular artists where they lack pieces of info (like label, complete title, etc.) or simply don't know if it's still in print. Most decent record stores will have a copy of the Schwann catalogue. This catalogue is divided into (I think) two volumes, for different classifications (someone with better data should probably clarify this in a future item). I believe you can browse (or purchase) these volumes and find records listed by artist and title, within specific classifications (popular, recent popular [?], classical, jazz ...). Also, large record stores will maintain a copy of Phonolog, which serves a similar function to the Schwann catalog. It is usually in a large binder, and may be browsed, but (to my knowledge) not purchased. Both Schwann and Phonolog are (supposed to be) updated on a regular basis. Hopefully, someone with more information will post a followup. Rich
