[comp.dcom.lans] CocoNet - Is it any Good?

root@joymrmn.UUCP (Marcel D. Mongeon) (06/04/90)

I am contemplating buying the CocoNet networking system. What
is attracting me is that it works with Dos, Novell and Xenix-Net.

Does anyone have any comments?

Does anyone know if CocoNet will work with an Excelan ethernet
network?

My situation involves about a dozen machines running Dos and Xenix over
an ethernet network. Is there anything else that I should be lookin at?
The last question is particularly important because I do want to use
Xenix-Net (And BTW does anyone know if SCO will be bringing out a
UNIX-NET?)

Thank.

It does work, although it still has a few (very minor) bugs. I am working
with it at work.

The largest network I have seen it on has been about 15 or so PS/2s, with
3 or 4 terminals also working off the main server.

Not yes, but soon (I think)

When you get CocoNet it includes Xenix-Net.
