Hi,

I need a(/any) contacts for people using Macs on a Novell network
The network I am looking at involves Macs (II's all flavors, LaserWriters
and plus's) and of course lots of IBM's, although the IBM's are easy to
handle as are the II's

The real problem appears to be the Pluses and LaserWriter. Novell through
Appletalk is fine, I just want to talk to someone that has done that
succesfully, also what have peoples experiences been with the

1) Network bridging on the Lan Server,
2) Network bridging on a seperate Lan Bridge *** see Q below ***
3) Novell Mac software.

Our intention is to get a Multigate to do Internet routing,
4) Will the MultiGate pass Mac type Novell, or MacNet (Ethernet) packets in
addition to the Internet/Appletalk packets ?

5) What sort of packets does Mac Novell use on EtherNet ?

I think that covers it
(I will remember somthing as soon as I finish the post)

Thanks,

*** re: Novell Bridges, ***
What do you need (in software) to make a bridge ? The manual is (as always)
very verbose but not really clear about this. Also, do you
need a seperate Novell license for a bridge only machine (eg a Pleb PC doing
bridging between EtherNet (10Base2) and Appletalk) ?

Thanks again,
Andrew.
