[comp.dcom.lans] NetBIOS vs. iNA960

rla@media01.UUCP (Raymond van der Laan) (06/12/90)

I use Intel's PCLink2 package (board + software) to develop network-
software through the NetBIOS interface. This package also provides
an interface to Intel's iNA960 Transport Layer software. The question is:

Can I use the NetBIOS interface on one side and communicate with
another side that uses the iNA960 interface?

The package implements both interfaces, so it may be possible.
The reason why I'm asking is that I want to connect some MSDOS
PC's to an iRMX server. The PC's use the NetBIOS interface, where the
server uses iNA960 network software.

Does anyone have experience with the PCLink2 package? Has someone
examined this problem before?

Any response would be greatly appreciated.
