[comp.dcom.lans] Remote Print Queue from UTEK to VMS

spotter@desire.wright.edu (06/12/90)

I am trying to set up a remote print queue using the sysadmin function on UTEK
(Tektronix UNIX derivative). The problem I have is that I am trying to go to a
VMS system on a MicroVAX, and I know nothing about VMS. Can anyone tell me how
the routing and such should work??

Thanks,

The VMS machine would have to be running one of the TCP/IP derivatives
available (CMU, TWG, TGV, etc) which would support the LPR protocol. Of these
the CMU package is fairly cheap ($150 or so) since it isn't a commercial
package. The others cost more $$, but have better performance.
