a question you may have already seen on comp.protocols.tcp-ip... If I were to stick an analyzer on a TR and look at the TCP/IP traffic, what size packets would I see as the largest - ie what is the most common largest packet size supported by vendors x,y, and z? Given the value today, what could I expect that value to be 2 years from now...? I have the 'max specs' based on the 802.5 stuff, but am more interested in what people actually support... rick jones Being An Employee OF A Standards Company, All Standard Disclaimers Apply

VINES TCP/IP Implementation uses 1520 as the largest packet on TR. Although I don't know our plans for the future, I would not be surprised at all if we pushed that up. mikes.
